We are a Cape Town-based online gaming company with a product-driven engineering team. We value ownership, clean design, and pragmatic decision-making, building scalable platforms using modern tooling and structured architecture. What You’ll Do (duties)

• Design and build scalable backend services using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Own system design across domains using DDD-style modular architecture.
• Architect and build high-throughput APIs (REST and async).
• Mentor engineers, review architecture, and define standards for service design and observability.
• Diagnose and resolve complex production issues across distributed systems.

Requirements (skills)

• Expert level TypeScript and Node.js.
• Deep experience with distributed systems and event-driven architecture.
• Mastery of PostgreSQL, data modeling, and messaging systems (Kafka/RabbitMQ).
• Proficiency in Cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) and Docker.

Experience (Qualifications)

• 6+ years of software development experience.
• 4+ years of experience with Node.js in a production environment.
• Proven track record of owning complex systems and mentoring teams.
